- Medical Laboratory Technician
- Medical Laboratory Technicians are trained in performing
various laboratory procedures and in determining the outcome of
those tests and procedures. Additional responsibilities include
learning the various body systems in relationship to tests and
procedures that the technician will perform. Medical Laboratory
Technicians often work directly with patients, but may work in a
laboratory environment where little or no patient contact is
required.
Upon completion of classroom instruction, you will be monitored during their first year of laboratory experience at an approved laboratory or health care facility. - Medical Office Management
- The Medical Office Management program provides the training and skills for a variety of tasks and challenges needed in healthcare offices. With an associate degree from Apollo College, graduates will be prepared to provide day to day leadership and management in the office such as supervising personnel, planning office procedures, developing office policies, and resuming customer service.
With the required educational background of an allied health field for entry into the Medical Office Management program, graduates will acquire the professional and business aspects to be equipped in managerial/supervisory positions in healthcare related fields. The program integrates an assortment of instruction such as accounting, human resources, customer service, computer applications, and communications to ensure graduates are knowledgeable and effective in the healthcare office environment. Career opportunities with a Medical Office Management associate degree may include working in medical clinics, medical offices, hospitals, health care facilities, or health related organizations. - The Radiographic Technologist correctly aligns the
radiology equipment and positions the patient to achieve the
optimum diagnostic examination. The Radiologist then interprets
the findings and reports to the patient's physician. The
technologist has important responsibility for safely administering
ionizing radiation to the public. This is an integral part of the
training in the Medical Radiography
Program.
The students in the Medical Radiography Program at Apollo College receive three 16 week semesters of classroom instruction that prepare them to do an additional three semesters of clinical at facilities throughout the greater Phoenix area.
The mission of the Medical Radiography program at Apollo College is to develop students into competent Radiologic Technologists who can assume entry level positions in the field. - Nursing
- The mission of the Nursing Program at Apollo College is
to develop highly educated, knowledgeable, skill-oriented
graduates who possess the necessary behavior and attitudes to
become entry-level Registered Nurses to serve the needs of the
community after completing state licensing requirements. A focus
of the program is to prepare graduates to successfully pass the
National Council Licensure Examination for Registered
Nurses.
The Nursing Program is built upon a base of general education courses that will give the nursing student critical thinking and mathematical skills as well as perspectives from the humanities and social sciences. This base enables nursing students to think critically, make decisions, gain independence, organize work, take initiative, supervise others, be responsible employees and life-long learners.
Instruction takes place on campus in classrooms, learning skills laboratory, computer laboratory and at various clinical affiliation agencies in greater Phoenix. Nursing students are provided with the appropriate didactic, laboratory facilities, instructions, and quality clinical education that prepares them to perform competently after graduation.
The program includes four semesters of study. The duration of each semester is sixteen (16) weeks. The total length of the program is sixty-four (64) weeks. Graduates of the Nursing Program will be awarded an Applied Science Degree from Apollo College. - Physical Therapist Assistant
A Physical Therapy Assistant assists the Physical Therapist in helping patients recover from illnesses and injuries. They assist in the physical therapy treatment plan for patients in order to restore muscle function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of body parts. A technician may aid in a therapy treatment program that may include exercise, electrical stimulation, ultrasound and massage therapy. They also instruct and motivate patients in isometric and ambulatory exercises.
Most Physical Therapy Technicians work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, clinics, physician offices, nursing homes, home health agencies, adult day care programs, schools, wellness and community centers, and in private industry. Graduates may also choose to train and test as Personal Trainers, opening many doors for successful careers in Fitness.

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at Apollo College will submit an Application for Candidacy, which is the formal application required in the pre–accreditation stage. Although the College plans to attain CAPTE accreditation status prior to the graduation of the first PTA program class, there is no guarantee that CAPTE will grant accreditation to the program. care.
The program gives you a complete education in the clinical, laboratory, and administrative duties of a Dental Assistant. - The Medical Administrative Assistant Program includes
two broad areas. The first encompasses secretarial skills, manual

- The Pharmacy Technician program at Apollo College
provides the technical and practical training to allow you to work
as an assistant to a licensed pharmacist in both retail and
hospital settings. The program will provide you with extensive
knowledge in pharmaceutical and medical terminology, abbreviations
and symbols used in prescribing, dispensing and charting of
medications and a working knowledge of drug trade and generic
names as well as strengths, dosages, dosage forms and routes of
administration.
Reading comprehension, pharmacy mathematics, use of the calculator, and good verbal and written communication skills are functionally taught throughout the course.
